My review
Wow. This is one of those books that stays with you long after you’ve finished reading it. It has a blend of emotions throughout and pulls you in from the very first page. This book is a tearjerker and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it as I don’t usually read books of this type, but boy, am I glad I did. Were introduced into Kayley’s life after the loss of her husband, who is realising her life will never be the same. Heavily pregnant at the time, she has to come to grips with the fact that she will now be a single parent and her child will never know their father.
“You need to understand something about me. I’m damaged. I’ve been totally annihilated this past year by what happened to me”
We follow the story of Kayley’s future after this event, as she begins to rebuild her life and start a future on her own. While emotional flashbacks are set to hinder her feelings as she moves on, a chance meeting with Dr. Ben (Dr. Yummy) has her wondering if there could be more for her. While she forever doubts herself and feeling of betraying her husband cause Ben and Kayley’s friend to intervene and try and set her up with him and Ben is determined to win her heart. Ben aims to make Kayley feel alive again, even though he wasn’t looking for love, something about the single mother draws him in. Burned by past relationships, he himself has to deal with his own issues while
"I understand you're scared. You lost a lot. You thought you were with the man you were going to stay with forever and he's gone. I get that. But please, baby. Please. Give me a chance to show you he wasn't the only one that can love you."
The character development and introductions in the story are flawless and you grow to love and support each and every one of them. Although the story focuses on Kayley and Ben’s story, I found that Alexis, Kayley’s baby was the one that made the story.  Her innocence, love for everyone and sweet heart was a great addition to the overall feel for the story. She held a very high influence on the story and my heart just melted when she said ‘Daddy Ben’ for the first time. The relationship between her and Ben were beautiful and I loved how L.L Collins chose to focus on the family feel of the book and not just the two leads.
“It was like Ben was dropped down from Heaven just for you, from Alex himself.”
While essentially a tear jerker, this story evokes so many different emotions and at times was so frustrating that I just wanted to bang their heads together! Overall, it was a perfect story that even though showcased tremendous loss, it showed that although the journey of forgiveness and love may be a bumpy one, it is there for us all to find.  L.L Collins shows us how essential it is to treasure every moment with the people you love. An amazing story that will stay with me a long time.
